If you're anything like me, you like to read each and every ingredient label carefully before placing any item in your grocery cart (this is why my husband hates shopping with me). Unfortunately, I've found that most foods in my local grocery store contain sugar or other processed chemicals. Sure, you could head to your nearest Whole Foods or natural foods store. But you'll pay a premium price for your products and there's still no way to quickly rule out items that contain non-compliant ingredients.
That’s where Thrive Market comes in---it's an online alternative for buying high-quality organic food and natural products without the retail markup. Think Whole Foods meets Costco. And it's online so your healthy groceries are delivered to your door! You can get all the keto and paleo ingredients you love at a fraction of the cost.

How Does Thrive Market Work?
Thrive Market makes shopping for healthy foods lightning-fast and incredibly easy. There's no need to drag yourself out to the grocery store at the end of a long day when you're likely too tired to shop. Sit down, kick your feet up, and fill your cart with ease knowing that you don't have to filter through a bunch of junk food to get exactly what you need.
Here's how to shop and save with Thrive Market:
- Sign up to browse all of Thrive's keto, paleo, and Whole30 products and see the discounts---members save an average of $32 on every order.
- Once you join, your membership allows you to get the member prices and free shipping on all orders over $49. You can cancel at any time with their 30-day risk-free cancellation period.
More On Shopping, Membership Fees, and Shipping
Thrive Market's search filter makes it really easy to shop by diet or specific values, like certified organic, sustainably caught or ethically sourced. All you need to do is select your requirements in the sidebar menu and you're ready to start shopping!
The average Thrive Market member makes back their annual membership fee in savings in just 2 orders. And if you don't? Thrive Market offers a Savings Guarantee which automatically rolls over the difference between your annual membership fee and savings as a Thrive Market credit after you renew your annual membership.
There are no shipping minimums that your orders need to meet, but if you want free shipping you'll need to place an order over $49. I just add things to my shopping cart as I run out and hit checkout once my cart reaches the minimum, so I always get free shipping. I end up placing a Thrive order about once per month.
And as part of their mission to provide healthy and affordable alternatives around the globe, when you join their membership community, you're also sponsoring a free membership for a low-income family.

How Much Can I Save? Is the Membership Worth It?
In my opinion, yes. The Thrive Market membership is definitely worth the minimal annual membership cost.
Thrive Market says that you can save anywhere between 25-50% off the typical retail costs of your favorite paleo, keto, and whole30 foods. And, of course, the added bonus is that those foods will be delivered directly to your doorstep.
Here's the total amount I've saved since becoming a Thrive member:
Better yet, my projected savings for this year are an additional $306.50. Cha-ching! I love keeping that money in the bank. Why spend more on healthy eating if I don't need to?!

Paleo Pantry List Price Comparison: Thrive Market vs. Amazon
I know, I know! It's hard to believe that shopping from an online grocery market could actually help you save that much money. I completely understand if you're still a little skeptical. Usually, a service that's so convenient comes with a hefty price tag.
But here's the thing...Thrive Market doesn't! Check out this sampling of how their wholesale prices stack up against retail prices and Amazon.
I've included a savings percentage comparison of MSRP vs. Thrive Market vs. Amazon pricing on my top 10 most frequently purchased items below. In an effort to be fair, I've priced the same brands and product sizes whenever possible. Because this wasn't always the case, I've factored the percentage of savings on the cost per unit.
My Top 10 Most Often Purchased Pantry Items
Here's how much you could be saving by shopping at Thrive Market---and which items are a better deal on Amazon:
1. Coconut Oil
This staple usually sells for $14.99 at retail price. Thrive Market offers organic virgin coconut oil for only $7.99. That’s a 47% savings off MSRP and 50% less than this organic coconut oil.
2. Almond Butter
This all-natural, tasty paleo treat usually retails for upwards of $9.39. Thrive Market offers non-GMO creamy almond butter for just $6.99 each. That’s a 26% savings off MSRP and less than this non-GMO almond butter.
3. Coconut Aminos
Coconut Aminos offers all the flavor of soy sauce, without the added salt or soy. It's $4.99 on Thrive Market, 27% off of retail. And their price is 46% less than these coconut aminos!
4. Avocado Oil Mayo
This creamy spread is a savory alternative for sandwiches and mayo-based salads. Thrive Market sells top brand Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo for only $7.49, which is 25% less than suggested retail pricing. You'll find about the same savings when compared to this avocado oil mayo too!
5. Coconut Flour
A key ingredient in all healthy pantries, organic coconut flour sells for 50% less on Thrive Market than in retail stores and 15% less than this organic coconut flour.
6. Ghee
Made with pasture-raised butter, this paleo favorite costs only $10.99 on Thrive Market, which is 28% less than the retail price and 34% less than this organic ghee. ( I also buy the Fourth & Heart flavored ghee at Thrive.)
7. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is a healthy paleo alternative for salad dressings and tastes great on vegetables and even popcorn. This versatile ingredient is available on Thrive Market for only $3.19, compared to its $4.49 suggested retail price. And you can save over 60% off this apple cider vinegar!
8. Cacao Powder
Filled with nutrients and antioxidants, cacao powder is rich in flavor and health benefits. Suggested retail price is $10.85, so Thrive Market suggests you'll save over 36% on cacao powder. That said, I found this exact item for the same price on Amazon. But, if you're open to swapping brands, Thrive Market offers their best deal on this house brand organic cacao powder. (I buy the Thrive cacao powder and use it in all my recipes.)
9. Wild Tuna
I developed my avocado tuna salad recipe using Wild Planet’s Non-GMO Wild Albacore Tuna, which is available on Thrive Market for 21% less than suggested retail value. I did find this item on Amazon for less than Thrive Market. Again, Thrive Market offers their best deal on their house brand non-GMO albacore tuna.
10. Coconut Wraps
Paleo Wraps are a healthy, low carb option for your favorite flatbread or quesadilla recipes. These coconut wraps are available for only $6.69 on Thrive Market, for 26% off the $8.99 suggested retail price and 9% off these coconut wraps. And if you're looking for paleo and keto-friendly wraps, these organic original coconut wraps are the best deal of them all!
As you can see, Thrive Market offers exceptional prices on healthier food choices. I think that anyone that's shopped at Whole Foods would agree with me that these sorts of savings are a rarity in today's world. (Note: prices are accurate as of posting but may be subject to change.)

Tips for Shopping with Thrive Membership
As I mentioned earlier, I typically place one order per month. The Thrive Market app (there's an app for iPhone and Android!) makes it really easy to shop. Using the app might even be easier than shopping from your computer.
Here's what you're likely to see in my typical monthly Thrive Market orders:
- Thrive Market organic pasta sauces. I love the marinara sauce, roasted garlic, and tomato basil - $4.99 ea.

- Himalayan pink salt - $5.99

Of all my paleo pantry staples, almond flour is the one thing I don't buy at Thrive. I prefer this brand of almond flour for baking---Thrive Market doesn't carry it so I buy it on Amazon (and get free 2-day shipping with Prime).
Thrive Market Meats & Seafood
While Thrive Market's primary focus is pantry staples, they also offer a growing selection of frozen meats and seafood. They offer a wide variety of grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken, pork, and seafood in over 25 different sampler boxes. These boxes offer a range of savings between 19 - 38% off typical retail prices.
And, best of all? Every single one of their frozen boxes is keto and paleo-friendly! Here are some examples:
- Free-Range Organic Chicken Box - $99.99 ($3.19 / serving)
- Wild Caught Seafood Box - $119.99 ($7.14 / serving)

Final Thoughts on Thrive Market
One last way to save---once you become a member you'll have access to weekly free products and discounts (I got a free box of Justin's cashew butter squeeze packs in my last order). Just be sure to check the "deals" tab before you check out.
No matter whether you're just getting started with your paleo, keto or Whole30 food list or you're a long-time healthy eater, Thrive Market is a fantastic way to save money on your healthy food bill. Not to mention the time you'll save shopping in the grocery store!
Like any grocery store or wholesale warehouse, they have other things besides food---health and beauty products, organic wines, and some things for kids, pets and your home. And all are shoppable by values like organic, non-GMO and non-toxic.
Thrive Market offers exceptional products with a price point and convenience-factor that you simply won't be able to find anywhere else. Amazon, Costco or your local grocery store, it's unlikely that you'll be able to beat these prices.
