This recipe is incredibly simple and one of my go-to meals when I don't have time to cook. I can get this mustard crusted salmon with roasted asparagus on the table in just 15 minutes using one sheet pan and 5 ingredients. It's faster-and healthier-than ordering take out.

Make a salad with a quick keto and Whole30 dressing while the fish is in the oven and you've got an easy paleo, Whole30, keto salmon dinner. Super fast, super easy, and amazingly delicious!

    Easy Baked Salmon

I love this baked salmon for a weeknight dinner because it's so simple. You literally spread the mustard on the salmon and put it in the oven. It could not be easier. And it works with fresh salmon or salmon that you quick thaw. If you have individually frozen wild salmon fillets in the freezer, just pop them in a bowl of cold water to thaw before baking. Once they are thawed, pat them dry and proceed with the rest of the recipe instructions.

The key to this recipe is using great fresh or frozen fish (wild-caught salmon is best) and a good quality mustard. I like using a whole grain mustard because it adds a little bit of crunch from the mustard seeds. Honey mustard would work as well for a paleo version-salmon is always good with a little bit of sweetness. For Whole30 and keto salmon look for a mustard with no added sugar. Just make sure it's a mustard that you like the taste of on its own. With only two ingredients, the flavor of the mustard will really come through in the finished dish.

    Mustard baked salmon and asparagus

You won't believe how fast and easy it is to make this mustard baked salmon with roasted asparagus recipe. Just put the salmon on one end of the baking sheet and the asparagus on the other end. Drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Spread the salmon with your favorite mustard and pop the sheet pan in the oven.

Dinner is ready when the fish is cooked through and the asparagus starts to caramelize, about 10 minutes. Just enough time to make a salad to go with it. If you have a little bit more time, this mashed cauliflower is amazing with it as well.

I just subscribed to you and I also just bought a bottle of whole grain mustard but had no idea what to do with it. Kismet! Thanks!

Question... This mustard crusted salmon recipe sounds great, but I'm wondering what you have on your salmon in the photograph that makes up the crust. ??? It looks quite interesting, but I am not familiar with the colorful grains.

Hi Gerrie, whole grain mustard is made with whole mustard seeds (not actual grains). Hope this helps!
