Popsicles are what summer memories are made of - the perfect sweet fruity treat to cool you off on hot sunny days. But the typical grocery store popsicle includes added sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, food dyes or artificial coloring.
It's easy to keep your ice pops healthy by making them at home. You get to control what goes into them and use just the good stuff. Real whole foods are the simple ingredients in this recipe. The natural sweetness of the fruit is delicious without the added grams of sugar.

How to make healthy popsicles
These homemade popsicles are so good, and so good for you because they're made from fresh ripe fruit. These strawberry ice pops are made with real strawberries and peaches. And with the sweetness of perfectly ripe fruit, you really don't need to add juice or sugar to them.
With just whole fruit for the ingredients, it's important to use the best quality you can. For the strawberries, be sure to look for organic berries. Strawberries are #1 on the dirty dozen list of produce with the most pesticide residue. Peaches are also included in the dirty dozen, so choose organic peaches as well.
Getting real fruit popsicles ready to freeze takes just a few minutes in a high-power Blendtec or Vitamix blender. You're going to make the fruit puree in two batches. (No need to wash the blender container in between batches.)
Start with blending the strawberries. You can add a little water or fruit juice to the blender if needed to get the blender going.
Pour the strawberry puree into the popsicle molds. (I have this one that has a lid that holds wooden popsicle sticks in place while they freeze.)
Repeat the process for pureeing the peaches and layer the peach puree over the strawberry puree. Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze until solid (at least 4-6 hours but I usually just freeze them overnight).
Using a silicone popsicle mold makes it easy to push the pops out of the molds once they're frozen. Just run the molds under warm water briefly to loosen them. Then you can unmold the popsicles and store them in the freezer in a reusable silicone bag.
There are so many flavor variations you can make with this popsicle recipe by changing the type of fruit. It's a great way to use any seasonal produce. And you can always add a little orange juice or lemon juice for a hint of citrus. Or add some apple juice for extra sweetness.

- Pineapple - you can make an all pineapple version, or just swap out the peach for a strawberry pineapple pop

Strawberry Peach Popsicles
- 1 quart strawberries
- 4 large peaches
- Wash and core the strawberries. Peel the peaches and cut into large chunks.
- Puree the strawberries in the blender until smooth. Add a little water if needed to blend the mixture. Fill molds with halfway with the strawberry puree.
- Puree the peaches in the blender until smooth. Add a little water if needed to blend the mixture. Pour the peach puree over the strawberry puree.
- Cover with the lid or and insert a popsicle stick in each pop. Don't push them all the way down. Freeze the pops until solid.
